The Cigna Choice Fund HRA provides a health care plan with a health reimbursement account funded by your employer to help pay for some of your covered health care costs.
- At the start of the plan year, your employer puts a specific dollar amount into your HRA.
- When you receive health care services, your HRA can be used first to pay 100% of your eligible health care costs until the money is used up.
- The health care costs that were paid from your HRA typically count toward your deductible — an annual amount you’ll pay before the health plan begins to pay for covered health care costs.
Expenses as defined by the ConGlobal Medical and Prescription plan. All expenses must meet the requirements of Section 213 of the IRS Code and are defined as amounts paid for “the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, or for the purpose of affecting any structure of function of the body.”
- Cosmetic procedures or items purchased for cosmetic reasons are not reimbursed. Many general health items are also not reimbursed unless they are necessary to treat a specific medical condition.
Do I have to submit receipts for the HRA?
You do not have to submit receipts. Cigna will automatically apply your HRA employer contributions at the time of claim which reduces your payment.
Can I take the funds with me if I no longer work at ConGlobal?
No, the funds are employer dollars allocated to your account and if they are not spent they do not get paid out.
